Dennis Marschall aiming for victory overall at the Deutsche Post Speed Academy
All good things come in threes! For Dennis Marschall from Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen in Bavaria, 2018 marks the start of his third year at the Deutsche Post Speed Academy which runs Germany’s most successful training programme for young racing drivers.
Out on the racetrack this season, Marschall will be fighting for top positions in the ADAC GT Masters, which will also count towards his overall ranking at the Deutsche Post Speed Academy. The BMW Motorsport Junior will race for well-known outfit, BMW Team Schnitzer, in the Super Sports Car League.
21-year-old Marschall is one of Germany’s top young motor racing drivers. He secured second place overall in the rankings of the Deutsche Post Speed Academy at the end of 2016 and 2017 and has so far received 112,500 euros in funding for his future career thanks to his outstanding achievements on the three-year programme.
In view of his steep learning curve, he has every chance of finishing top overall in 2018 on the Deutsche Post training programme which has so far produced Formula 1 drivers like Nico Hülkenberg and Adrian Sutil and DTM stars Timo Glock, Pascal Wehrlein and Marco Wittmann.
Marschall will be under close scrutiny from famous jury members throughout the entire season, whose job it is to rate the performance of the specially selected top talents. They include BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt, former Mercedes-Benz Motorsport Director Norbert Haug, DTM ace Timo Glock, two-time Le Mans winner Manuel Reuter and RTL star reporter Kai Ebel.
Apart from his performance on the racetrack, Marschall’s achievements on Deutsche Post’s exclusive training programme also play an important role. The Speed Academy offers a comprehensive, systematic training programme designed to promote the rounded development of professional motor racing drivers. In various workshops, starting with a driving dynamics module and then moving on to fitness and mental training, drivers get the framework required for their future careers from experts.
Dennis Marschall: “I’m really looking forward to my third and final year at the Deutsche Post Speed Academy, and I’d like to thank all those involved and, of course, the jury of experts in particular for the trust they’ve placed in me during these past few years. I’ve learned a tremendous amount thanks to their support and can hardly wait to progress to the next stage in my development this year. Obviously, after twice coming second, I’ve got my eye on the top prize, overall victory at the Deutsche Post Speed Academy. I’ll get the best possible support from BMW Team Schnitzer in the ADAC GT Masters.”
The 2018 motor racing season will begin in exactly one week’s time for Marschall. Racing in the ADAC GT Masters, he will contest the first of seven race weekends in the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben (April 13th – 15th) and have his first race outing at the wheel of the BMW M6 GT3 prepared by BMW Team Schnitzer that produces approximately 585 bhp.
